BRILLIANT PARK INTO FINALS DAY

-

AMMANFORD Park go marching on in the Welsh Club Championship.

In the quarter-final on Saturday they defeated Llanbradach, a victory that takes them to finals day in Llandrindod Wells.

They will face Presteigne in a morning semi-final and, if successful, a final in the afternoon.

Llanelli League matches continued on Saturday as Llanelli, recovering from a Friday night defeat at Ammanford, managed a home win against Parc y Dre.

Graig Merthyr took the points at Havelock Park by just two shots, while Brynhyfryd’s visit to Kidwelly Town proved to be a big hit as they came away with 12 points.

League leaders Loughor recorded another home win, this time at the expense of Burry Port.

The outstanding County competition match, the Open Triples, was played between two teams from Ammanford Park at Loughor. And Gareth Thomas, Paul Mason and Ross Davies beat their club-mates Vaughan Williams, Kelly Edwards and Sam Brown by three shots.

Also held at Loughor was the final round of the League DJ Jones (Tworink) competition between Graig Merthyr and Burry Port.

With an abundance of visiting support, Burry Port held their own

against a very experienced Graig team and led for a considerable proportion of the match before finally succumbing in the final three ends.
