This week on London Film Club there is a brace of reviews… Oh, what were they about again? Two big films … One was a fish… That’s it! The team will dive into Finding Dory, animation’s most forgetful fish, to find out if her solo adventure can compare to Finding … what was his name again? Nemo! That was it.

There’s another bloke with a mysterious name this week too, and his memory is just as bad as ours and Dory’s. Where he and Dory differ is that she doesn’t cut a swathe through Europe, unlike Jason Bourne. Does the return of Matt Damon re-energise the franchise which has become operational again after four years? In the backdrop to this story of all the intrigue wheeling around the barriers and paddocks of the Epsom Derby, where Lady Helen Forbes (Anna Neagle) scandalises her family by attending while in mourning, is a dandy called Prince Monolulu.

This fellow is no camera-hungry extra maxing out his screen time but a fixture of London racetracks and Petticoat Lane Market. Ras Prince Monolulu claimed he was from Ethiopia when he was really from the Caribbean and his name was Peter Carl Mackay, who would yell, “I gotta horse!” when he had tips to sell. He won big once, a 100/6 nag pocketing him £8,000 (over £320,000 today).
