Josh has scans on injured ankle

-

BRENTFORD midfielder Josh McEachran was today having scans on the ankle injury he suffered in last night’s 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday, writes Giuseppe Muro.

McEachran was taken off on a stretcher in the second half but the early signs were the 23-year-old only suffered bruising.

Brentford medical staff were assessing McEachran today to determine the extent of the injury and should know by tomorrow.

McEachran has been in good form this season and the club hope he will not face an extended spell on the sidelines.

“It was a kick on the ankle,” said Brentford manager Dean Smith. “He felt a sharp whack on it. His fears were he has heard a couple of cracks in the foot. He seemed a bit more happy after the game so we are hoping it is not as serious as we first thought.”

Brentford are up to 14th in the Championship after goals from John Egan and Harlee Dean helped them beat play-off hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday.

Smith said: “It was a fantastic evening because it is a tough place to come and they will be a top-six side.”
