ROCKET MAN
JET-SUIT BRITON TAKES OFF
BRITISH inventor Richard Browning hovers above the ground in his
Iron Man-inspired jet-powered flight suit.
The aeronautical engineer, inset, uses engines on his arms to control the direction and thrust of the suit.
He claims it can reach 200mph and an altitude of a few thousand feet. But unlike the movie character’s longdistance jet suit, below left, Mr Browning’s suit can only fly for 10 minutes.
The Wiltshire inventor, who was in Vancouver, said: “I think of it as a bit like a jet ski, a bit of fun or an indulgent toy, but I do have a hunch that stuff will come along to make it more practical.”
