Playing without ego means we are all pulling together

Havard Nordtveit was also good for us, as was Arthur Masuaku, who unfortunately picked up a knock and could be doubtful.

Havard has been in his No1 position in midfield on a few occasions this season but not as much as we had anticipated because he has had to play elsewhere due to injuries to other players and also because Pedro Obiang has had such a good season.

However, he showed if you believe in yourself and keep working hard your situation can change.

What pleased me most about the Everton game was how well we closed them down and didn’t give their players time and space to turn and hurt us. I was happy with everything except our quality in the final third of the pitch.

It will be good to see Mark Hughes tomorrow. He has done really well as Stoke manager, constantly improving the squad and I recall playing against him. I liked him as an opponent. He was tough, never moaned and a worldclass striker.
