Jenkins: Volunteer to go on the trip of a lifetime

- Alistair Foster

KATHERINE JENKINS today urged more people to offer their time for free as she launched a competition to win a volunteering trip to Africa.

The singer, 36, a patron of the charity Tusk, said: “Volunteering shows passion, dedication as well as a strong sense of character and I would urge people to take up this incredible opportunity to put your hand up and do your part to help protect Africa’s unique heritage. Volunteering is one of the most valuable and important things you can do with your time and we should all feel a responsibility to protect the beauty of this planet in the best way we can.”

The Tusk and Avios “do more for Africa” competition is offering three placements on projects in southern Africa. To be in with a chance of winning, entrants must upload a video or a short piece of writing with images to show their interest in volunteering.

Jenkins is on the judging panel for the competition. Enter at avios.com/forafrica.
