Confession ruled out in Making A Murderer case
LAWYERS will fight for the release of a prisoner featured in Netflix series Making A Murderer, after judges backed a ruling that he was coerced into confessing.
Brendan Dassey, above, was 16 and mentally impaired when he told police under interrogation he helped his uncle Steven Avery rape and kill photographer Teresa Halbach, 25, in 2005.
Dassey, now 27, and Avery both received life sentences in 2007. The state of Wisconsin must now initiate a new trial or release Dassey within 90 days.
