Fancy dress party in memory of Kathy

PRACTICE managers from GP surgeries in South Charnwood are hosting a fund-raising party in memory of a friend and colleague who passed away last year.

Kathy Wright, who was the practice manager at Castle Donington Surgery, lost her battle with ovarian cancer in September.

On Saturday, March 25, Kathy’s friends and colleagues are hosting a fancy dress party to raise money for her preferred charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event will take place at Quorn Village Hall from 7pm to midnight, with tickets costing £10.

One of the organisers of the event, Sharon Clay, managing partner at The Cottage Surgery in Woodhouse Eaves, said: “Kathy was a good friend to many of us so we wanted to organise this in her memory.

“All proceeds from ticket sales will go to Kathy’s preferred charity Macmillan, as we have been able to secure sponsorship to cover the costs of our event.

“We would like to thank the following organisations who have kindly sponsored the event: Gordon White & Hood Architects, JH Electrical, ShredPro, Swithland Spring and ABPM Recruitment.

“If any organisation would like to donate a raffle prize or sponsorship to enable us to raise more money for Macmillan, this would be very much appreciated.

“This can be done by contacting practice managers at any of the following surgeries: Greengate Medical Centre, Anstey Surgery, Quorn Medical Centre, Barrow Health Centre, Birstall Medical Centre, Alpine House Surgery, Charnwood Surgery, The Banks Surgery, Silverdale Medical Centre, Highgate Medical Centre, Mahavir Medical Centre, Thurmaston Health Centre, The Cottage Surgery.”
