Neighbourh­ood Plan Update. The parish council would like to thank everyone who attended the Neighbourh­ood Plan public meeting on January 25.

This was a great opportunit­y to update residents on the work that has been carried out so far and to capture feedback.

This feedback will be used to help with the next phase; the formation of policies which will form the Neighbourh­ood Plan.

Leicesters­hire County Council Consultati­on. Leicesters­hire County Council are currently consulting residents on the draft Highway Asset Management Policy and Highway Asset Management Strategy.

A reducing budget and changes to government guidance have meant that the county council needs to revise the way it maintains the county’s roads, verges and pavements.

Police Report. There was one reported crime in Hoton in January; one incident of agricultur­al criminal damage was reported in the area of Prestwold Lane. There was one reported crime in Hoton in February; one traffic offence reported in the area of Wymeswold Road.

Next Parish Council Meeting. The next meeting will be the annual meeting of Hoton Parish Council, which will be held on Monday, May 8, at 8.15pm at Hoton Village Hall. This meeting will be preceded by the Annual Parish Meeting, commencing at 8pm. All residents are invited to attend. Website.
