Hallcroft Opticians is also celebrating its recent move to new premises at 22 Charnwood Road at the event, which takes place between 11am and 3pm.

Bonita Irish, of Hallcroft Opticians, said: “It will be held outside so please come dressed for the weather, although we will have gazebos and heaters or maybe we will need sun specs!

“We will also have a guest appearance by Fran and Sue Ochalek and their hero Guide Dog ‘Domino’, plus their special friend Steve with Guide Dog ‘Brogan’.

“Please come along for a cuppa and meet Domino and Brogan to raise funds for this great charity.”

The event is being hosted as part of National Tea Day which is all about tea, community, and fun.

That’s why Guide Dogs is getting behind National Tea Day and encouraging people at home, work or within their community to host a Great Guide Dogs Tea Party and to get dunking your beloved biscuits for the charity’s cause.

Every pound raised makes a difference to people in the UK living with sight loss.

Just £5 a day keeps a guide dog partnership on the road.

Fran Ochalek, guide dog owner, said: “It’s no understatement to say Domino, my guide dog, has changed my life.

“I had lost all confidence and didn’t want to leave the house.

“I had to rely on my wife Sue and my daughters Amy and Emma. It made me very sad and isolated.

“With Domino, I have the freedom and confidence to go out now, which is exhilarating, amazing and makes me so proud to have him by my side working in his harness - he’s my hero!”
