-

empstone All Saints parish church, built in the 1770s to replace St. Peter’s in the Rushes, is looking for more bell ringers.

VILLAGE EVENTS. A number of events are planned for Rempstone in the coming months, with a Plant Sale on May 13, being held as a joint event with the Parish Church and the Gardening Club. On July 2 the annual Summer Fete takes place, organised jointly by the Parish Church and the Village Hall Committee.

The same two are involved in the annual Village Show on September 18 and that event will be quickly followed by the annual Harvest Supper in September 24.

PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCNIL MEETING. The annual parochial church council meeting for Rempstone will be held in All Saints Church Tuesday next week April 25. This is billed as an opportunity for parishioners to hear about the Church finances, the architect’s report on the structure of the building, and reports and comments on the events and activities which have taken place over the past year. The meeting will also elect members of the PCC for the coming year and those attending will be a chance to discuss any proposals for the future.

COFFEE MORNING WITH DVDs.

One of Rempstone’s regular series of coffee mornings takes place in the Village Hall on Thursday this week, April 20 from 10.30 am until 12 noon -- with a slight difference.

Organisers say that on the usual jigsaw tables they are now going to have some DVDs that can either be bought for £1, or, if you bring in another DVD, can be bought for 50p. in other words, the system will work just as it does for jigsaws.

“We would be grateful for donations of DVDs that you and your family have finished with,” say the organisers, adding they can be taken to this weeks coffee morning on Thursday

There will also be a number of Blu-ray DVDs that can be hired for 50p but must be returned by the following Coffee Morning.
