Dynamo have fate in their own hands

-

LOUGHBOROUGH Dynamo will play one of the most important matches in their history on Saturday as they try to complete a remarkable turnaround to their season.

They will host Market Drayton Town at the Nanpantan Sports Ground in the final game of the EvoStik Premier League Division One South campaign with their destiny in their own hands after a run of three successive victories.

Relegation looked a certainty at the start of April, but wins over relegation rivals Rugby Town and Northwich Victoria, followed by up East Monday’s last gasp win at Gresley mean that Dynamo currently sit out of the relegation places one point ahead of Rugby Town who play host to Kidsgrove Athletic in their final fixture.

It has been a season which has seen Loughborough Dynamo towards the bottom of the table all campaign but Peter Ward’s team have struck form at the perfect moment.

On Easter Monday, things were all square with Gresley until the game entered stoppage time and then in the 92nd minute a Dynamo free kick saw a fine shot from Demidh elude the Gresley wall and beat Flinders low to his right hand to give Dynamo the lead and ultimately all three points.

Now they know victory over Market Drayton will see them avoid relegation even if Rugby Town win, but with a vastly inferior goal difference to Rugby, defeat could see them relegated if Rugby manage to draw their final game.
