General Election briefing

A BRIEFING session is being held for prospectiv­e candidates and their agents in the forthcomin­g parliament­ary elections for the Loughborou­gh and Charnwood constituen­cies.

The session will take place at 6pm tomorrow (Thursday, April 27) at Charnwood Borough Council’s Southfield­s Offices in Committee Room 1 and is open to anyone considerin­g standing for election in those constituen­cies for the general election on June 8.

The session will cover an overview of the election processes and arrangemen­ts and it should take no more than an hourand-a-half.

Nomination and support packs for candidates will be available after the session.

The deadline to register to vote in time for the general election is May 22.

Anyone who is not yet registered to vote should apply now at: www.gov.uk/registerto­vote.

Anyone who was registered to vote at the EU Referendum, or has registered to vote at local elections in May, does not need to re-register in order to take part in the 2017 General Election.
