Children can learn bush craft

-

LOCAL children will be able to take part in Forest School sessions throughout the summer thanks to a local Community Interest Company.

Above and Beyond was set up by youth workers Andrew Lake and Colin Laws, who have nearly 60 years experience between them of working with troubled and vulnerable youngsters.

One of the company’s projects involves Forest School sessions, where youngsters can learn bush craft and how to appreciate the environment around them, as well as improve confidence and communication skills.

The sessions will take place on April 29, May 6, 13 and 20, June 10, 17 and 24, July 8, 15 and 22, August 5, 12 and 19, and September 2, 9 and 16.

They cost £6 and run from either noon-2pm or 2.30pm-4.30pm.

All ages welcome but under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.

Forest School is at Booth Wood, accessed off Rowbank Way.
