Young artists are hailed for quality of work

-

THE Shepshed Charnwood Rotary Club’s annual Young Artists Competition has once again been a great success.

With entries from St. Winefride’s and Newcroft in Shepshed, Kegworth and Belton primary students, the high standards made selection of the winners very difficult.

Graphic artist Daniel Oskiewicz judged the entries and said he was very impressed with all of the fine work that the pupils had done.

A Shepshed Charnwood Rotary Club spokesperson said: “Encouraging primary school pupils to use their imagination and produce a variety of works of art is one of the aims of the competition.

“Getting them involved in looking at their local community is an additional benefit.”

President Mike Lister presented a certificate and book token to the three winning entries from each school.

These were chosen on the composition, imagination and detail in each painting or collage.
