Hoping to get bus route for Hathern

I RECENTLY sent a letter to Trent Barton to see if they would alter their Blue Skylink Bus route to take in Hathern.

I had the support of 110 Hathern villagers who signed a petition as well as the support of the parish council, the county council and local MP, Nicky Morgan.

However, they have responded by stating that the extra six bus stops on the proposed route would take an additional 12 minutes for the one extra mile!

They stated that they would need an extra bus to undertake this route which was not a viable option at this time.

I have now approached the Arriva Bus Company to see whether they would amend their 127 route to take in Hathern.

I have proposed that they consider a clockwise and anti-clockwise alternative service ie Lough-borough- Shepshed- Hathern-Lough-borough with the next bus reversing the route.

The customer base is there it just needs a bold decision to take this on board.
