National title joy for Jones
MEMBERS OF Simon Coope Karate School have been in action at the English National Karate Championships at its brand new home at the Leicester Community Sports Arena.
The event was held over two days and there was title success for youngster Carys Jones.
She was crowned the 12-13 Years +45kg English National Karate Champion after a superb series of bouts. She won 8-0 in her first fight, then 2-1 in her second fight and her third fight 3-0 to make it to the last four.
In the semi-final she won 1-0 to reach the final and in the final itself won 1-0 to clinch the title.
