Four teams upset the odds in cup
THE first round games of the Kater 4 Knockout cup were played last week in the Loughborough & District Pubs and Clubs Darts League with four teams upsetting the form book to beat higher league opposition.
The biggest surprise was S H Cox Division Three Blacksmiths Blue Army’s excellent 5-3 away win against the Blue Ball Lions from Division One, with John Allenby putting the icing on the cake with his second maximum of the season for the ’Blue Army’. This was closely followed by the Crown Jewels Barrow from Jim Kidger Division Six who beat the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys from Division Three.
S H Cox Third Division Black Swan JS beat the Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals from Division Two with Michael Sciepanow hitting his third maximum of the season in the game for the Spot On, and Division Six Plough Ernie’s beat the Tap and Clapper Bob Bradley’s from Division Five on the deciding leg.

Generous Briton Dad’s Army, Brush Club AW, Navigation Wagg’s Gang, Spot On Dinosaurs, Bottom Railway BA, Swan in the Rushes Savvies, Three Nuns Albion, Blue Ball MS, Royal Oak Old Un’s, Tap & Clapper, Royal Oak DP and Shepshed Dynamo Gatecrashers all had byes in to the second round of the draw which will take place on Thursday, June 8 at the Three Nuns, Loughborough.
Once again this season all the first round losing sides will be entered in to a plate competition and the draw for this will take place on the same night.
