Reigning champions Bottom Railway BA win top of the table clash to open up two point advantage

BOTTOM Railway BA beat leaders Spot On MP in the top of the table clash to take over at the top of Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League last week.

Mark Smith hit his first maximum of the season for the reigning champions Bottom Railway BA as they open up a two point lead at the top of the division with their 6-3 win. Navigation Tap Tappers move up to third place after a 5-4 win against the Royal Oak DP, and Kev Bryans hit his second maximum of the season as the Blue Ball Lions beat the Arena Gladiators. Rich Page hit his third maximum for the Royal Oak Shooters as they lost 6-3 to the Three Nuns Left Footers and he now joins Bottom Railway’s Andy Hibbert and Blue Ball ‘Lion’ Tony Spencer who also have three.

In Wanty’s Division Two, Brush Club AW extend their lead at the top of the division with a 5-4 win against the Spot On Lads whilst second place Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals lost 5-4 to the Tap and Mallet JB despite Michael Sciepanow hitting his fourth and fifth maximums of the summer season so far. Eric Davis hit his second maximum for the Spot On Dinosaurs, as they beat the Top Railway A 6-3, to go joint third with Shepshed Dynamo Gatecrashe­rs who did not play.

In S H Cox Division Three Terry Neal hit a maximum for the Three Nuns Albion as they lost 6-3 to the new leaders of the division Blacksmith­s Blue Army. The Three Nuns Exiles continued their excellent current form with a 6-3 win against Generous Briton Dad’s Army and climb to third place in the division.

In Generous Briton Division Four, the Generous Briton Griff and Barrett’s Bandits had the biggest win of the night with their 9-0 whitewash of the Peacock Feathers, and in the only other game played in the division the Tap and Clapper narrowly beat Plough B 5-4.

In Navigation Division Five, nothing still separates the Dewdrop Blues and the Swan in the Rushes Black Pearls at the top as both won 5-4. The Tap and Clapper Bob Bradley’s had a good 7-2 win against the Generous Briton Luff’s and Crown MA won their first game of the season with a good 6-3 result away at the White Hart Stags.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Six, leaders Plough Ernie’s beat the Three Nuns Bad Habits 5-4 to stay top, but second place Top Railway DUI’s were beaten 5-4 by the Generous Briton Team GB, as a result the Crown Jewels Barrow move up to second after their 6-3 win against Blue Ball MS.
