Annual car show returns this Sunday

CELEBRATE Father’s Day in style as the annual Classic Car Show is returning to the town centre.

Love Loughborou­gh has once again teamed up with Charnwood Cruisers to bring the much-loved annual show to the town centre on Sunday, June 18.

The town centre will be taken over with Hot Rods, Customs, Race Cars, Choppers, Classic Scooters, buses and more than 20 Land Rovers.

The show is free – even the park- ing is at council-owned car parks, excluding Brown’s Lane.

The show will be open from 10am until 4pm and there will be entertainm­ent from DJ Dave Shepherd and live music throughout the day.

Local businesses will also be open including shops, cafes, restaurant­s and bars.

The event this year so far has more than 130 vehicles registered, and this year there will be a Bond Bug, a Ward La France Fire Engine plus Soap Box Racers.

There will be live entertainm­ent from Ska-Amanga band plus fairground rides for all the family.

The Loughborou­gh Car Show is brought to you by Love Loughborou­gh, Charnwood Cruisers and Nicholas Humphreys Charity Foundation whhch is supporting the stage in the town centre.

Love Loughborou­gh BID support manager, Nichola Gaffney, told the Echo: “It is going to be a fantastic day with fun for all the family, we’ve got a fantastic selection of vehicles registered and fingers crossed that the weather holds out for a lovely day too.

“There is so much to do in the town centre, and people will just be able to have a wander around and look at all the brilliant cars and then be able to enjoy a spot of lunch or some shopping or go for a drink in one of the bars or restaurant­s.

“It really is going to be another fantastic event and I’m really looking forward to it.”
