A busy year again for the Glenmore Centre

-

THE GLENMORE Centre in Shepshed has said that it has had another “busy” year in its annual report to the town council.

The centre is run and guided by the general committee of the Glenmore Association, and is financed by income raised from rents and hire charges, a running costs grant from Shepshed Town Council and any other grants that it is able to secure.

Centre manager, Victoria Jacques, said in her report that the centre is used by various groups from a lunch club for the elderly to mental health support and karate. She said that they have also started a project of reupholstering the chairs in the centre.

Victoria said: “We are lucky to have a large number of volunteers at the Glenmore Centre helping to run and support many of our groups. Without this vital resource the centre could not run as it does and would not provide the amazing range of clubs and classes that it is able to. Thank you to all the volunteers who truly help to make the Glenmore Centre the success that it is.”
