Woman taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Loughborough

POLICE officers were called to a Loughborough road on Thursday, June 15, after a woman was hit by a bus.

The Echo was made aware of the incident by a reader who had noticed a police car parked across Regent Street, Loughborough, at around 7pm.

A spokesperson from Leicestershire Police told the Echo: “We were called at 6.22pm to a road traffic collision involving a bus and a female pedestrian, who was on a crossing.

“The road was blocked and the ambulance service was called.

“According to the service the injuries were not life threatening or life changing. “The road reopened at 9.32pm.” East Midlands Ambulance Service told the Echo: “We received a call yesterday evening at 6.17pm.

“We sent a crewed ambulance to the scene and one patient was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.”
