Woman taken to hospital after being hit by a bus in Loughborou­gh

POLICE officers were called to a Loughborou­gh road on Thursday, June 15, after a woman was hit by a bus.

The Echo was made aware of the incident by a reader who had noticed a police car parked across Regent Street, Loughborou­gh, at around 7pm.

A spokespers­on from Leicesters­hire Police told the Echo: “We were called at 6.22pm to a road traffic collision involving a bus and a female pedestrian, who was on a crossing.

“The road was blocked and the ambulance service was called.

“According to the service the injuries were not life threatenin­g or life changing. “The road reopened at 9.32pm.” East Midlands Ambulance Service told the Echo: “We received a call yesterday evening at 6.17pm.

“We sent a crewed ambulance to the scene and one patient was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary.”
