Carers urged to check they are getting available support
CARERS from across Leicestershire are being urged to come forward to make sure they are receiving support that may assist them in their role.
The county council is asking anyone who cares for a family member or friend who could not cope without them, to identify themselves in their local communities and workplaces.
The annual National Carers Week campaign aims to highlight the vital contribution made by carers and focus on building carer friendly communities.
A carer is someone who provides unpaid support during their day-to-day life to a partner, relative or friend who is ill, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems.
Carers could be missing out on a wide variety of help from free flu vaccinations to referrals to services offering specialised information, advice and support.
