THERE’S another opportunit­y to enjoy some uplifting music in a beautiful setting this weekend.

The church of St Mary in Charnwood in Nanpantan Road, set in its own woodland surroundin­gs, will host another Worship with a Classical Flavour on Sunday evening.

The guest soloist will be Hannah O’Toole-Thrower and who will be singing and playing the bassoon, accompanie­d by Jeremy Kimber.

Hannah and Jeremy will play two special pieces during the evening service, Laudate Dominum, by Mozart and Bach’s Quia respexit.

After a short break for refreshmen­ts there will be a recital in which Hannah will sing pieces by Vivaldi, Faure, Grieg and Handel as well as playing the bassoon for Rondo by Ivor Foster, Elgar’s Romance, Hurlstone Sonata and Tarantella by Milde.

The guest preacher for the evening service will be the Rev Adele Adshead and the service starts at 6pm on Sunday, June 25.

Everyone is very welcome to come and enjoy some inspiratio­nal music.
