AFTER last week’s blip, Wymeswold returned to winning ways with a 38-run home victory over Lenton and Willoughby in the South Notts Cricket League Division F.

Skipper Rob Pitman won the toss and batted first, with his 68 putting Wymeswold in a strong position at 155 for 3. A tight bowling and field- ing display then saw Lenton and Willoughby allout for 171 from the penultimate ball, meaning maximum points for Rob Pitman’s side.

In the ‘Robert Whowell and Partners’ Division M of the league it was skipper Rik Matthams who starred, hitting an unbeaten century in his side’s 62-run win at Notts and Arnold.

Wymeswold seconds batted first and were 60 for 4 when Matthams came to the wicket, and with 25 from Andrew Shelton he pushed the total to 179 all out, ending himself on 103 not out.
