Leaders open up nine point advantage

BOTTOM Railway BA beat the Arena Gladiators 8-1 to extend their lead to nine points at the top of Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League last week.

Andy Hibbert hit his third and Mark Smith his second maximum of the season for the Bottom Railway as they eased to a comfortabl­e victory. Four Maximums were scored in the 5-4 win by third place Navigation Tap Tappers over second place Spot On MP, with both Captains registerin­g one. Tap Tappers Captain Dan Jones hit his fifth of the season to take the outright lead for the most maximums scored in Division One so far this summer, and captain Mike Pepper and Steve Hopkins both hit maximums for the Spot On MP. The Three Nuns Left Footers are up to fourth place after their 6-3 win against the Navigation Wagg’s Gang, and The Blue Ball Lions beat the Royal Oak DP 7-2.

In Wanty’s Division Two, Michael Sciepanow hit his seventh and eighth maximums of the season for Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals as they lost 6-3 away to the Top Railway A. Jay Foreman hit his second maximum for the Spot On Dinosaurs as they closed the gap on leaders Brush Club AW to eight points with a 7-2 win against Tap and Mallet JB.

In S H Cox Division Three, Bull and Bush Laughing Boys beat leaders Blacksmith­s Blue Army 5-4, so as a result the Three Crowns Barrow are now only one point behind them after their 7-2 win against the Three Nuns Exiles.

In Generous Briton Division Four, Spot On Rejects are still unbeaten after a 6-3 top of the table clash win against the Tap and Clapper. They are now nine points clear of Plough B, who replace the Tap and Clapper in second place, after their 7-2 win against Blue Ball B.

In Navigation Division Five the Swan in the Rushes Black Pearls take over at the top of the table from the Dewdrop Blues, after a close 5-4 win against third place Tap and Clapper Bob Bradley’s.

Finally, in Jim Kidger Division Six, Generous Briton Team GB stay undefeated and top of the division after a close 5-4 win against Shepshed Dynamo B&W, however second place Top Railway DUI’s lost 7-2 to the Swan in the Rushes Savvies. The Crown Jewels Barrow therefore move up to second after their 6-3 win over the Three Nuns Bad Habits.
