Thanks from TwentyTwenty

-

THE young people and staff of TwentyTwenty would like to thank the Rotary Club of Loughborough Beacon for a fantastic donation of £2020.

This generous cheque is the result of fund-raising efforts by the club during this last year whilst Richard Wharton has been their President, and the charity is very grateful for being chosen by him as a beneficiary for the year. Our involvement with this local Rotary club goes far beyond receiving donations, and we appreciate the time and effort that the members contribute, including those who have signed up to mentor a young person.

TwentyTwenty supports young people who haven’t managed to achieve the qualifications they need first time round, and we provide the intensive support and help they to gain the both the skills, and the maths and English that local employers consider crucial in order to offer them a job.

Many of the young people who attend our Lifeskills Centre in Loughborough have multiple needs, and require help with food, clothing for interviews and travel costs to attend the centre, and to go for work experience.

Support from local community groups and individuals is vital in enabling us to fully support these young people, and we would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved.

We also have a waiting list of young people across Charnwood who would love a mentor to spend an hour a week with them, encouraging them and sharing their stories, and we fully train and support anyone who is able to give their time in this way.
