Our economy has changed little since the refrendum

-

I REPLY to R Guise letter (Echo, June 28) which starts with a fact before descending into Brexit fictional disasters.

Exchange rate fluctuations are heavily influenced by crisis seeking speculators. Since the referendum our economy has changed little and is still one of the strongest around with the Stock Market through the roof.

Leave voters have not been linked with any admiration for the British political system. The most farcical going on is that Mr Corbyn succeeded in persuading many of the electorate that he can fix the complex ills which adversely affect 95 per cent of us without cost. The wealthy 5 per cent and multi-nationals will fund all. So simple, should have been done years ago.

The only ‘ severance figure’ I have seen in print seemingly originated from the depths of Europe. It is beneath comment or we will simply walk away.

With the UK having such a low skilled workforce we are just lucky that all these extra civil servants were available. A bonus is that they will be able to stop claiming benefit and pay tax instead. Let’s employ some more.

Despite scouring Europe I can not find a mythical calculator so cannot answer his point on cash return. Perhaps RG could use real figures (they do not need to be accurate) and we can crunch the numbers for him. Arthur Shaw Loughborough and Brexit
