First defeat of season for Brush Club AW

BOTH of the remaining unbeaten records were surrendere­d last week in the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League.

Wanty’s Division Two leaders Brush Club AW narrowly lost to second place Spot On Dinosaurs in a top of the table clash, and Generous Briton Division Four leaders Spot On Rejects also lost 5-4 to the Plough B. Both teams remain top of their respective divisions but their leads have been reduced with half the season still to play.

In Blue Ball Division One Tony Spencer hit his sixth maximum of the season for the Blue Ball Lions, as they whitewashe­d the Royal Oak Shooters 9-0, to move up to second place behind Bottom Railway BA who did not play. Third place Navigation Tap Tappers won 6-3 against the Three Nuns Left Footers in a game that saw Lyndon Hextall hit his seventh and Dan Jones his sixth maximum of the season for the ‘ Tappers’, the fifth time this season that the pair have both scored maximums on the same night. There was a good 7-2 win for Royal Oak DP against Spot On MP and Navigation Wagg’s Gang beat the Arena Gladiators 6-3.

In Wanty’s Division Two, the Brush Club AW’s lead has been cut to four points as a result of their first loss, whilst the Spot On Lads are now up to third place after their 7-2 win at the Tap and Mallet CD.

At the top of S H Cox Division Three, Blacksmith’s Blue Army close the gap on the Three Crowns Barrow to three points after their 7-2 win over the Crown Inn Glory, and an excellent 5-4 win by the Bull and Bush Laughing Boys over the leaders. The Three Nuns Exiles remain third with their 5-4 win over Beacon Reds for whom captain Ben Bryans hit a maximum.

In Generous Briton Division Four, the Spot On Rejects lead is reduced to five points as a result of their first loss to second place Plough B, and Tap and Clapper are up to third place as a result of their 6-3 win against the Peacock Feathers.

In Navigation Division Five the Generous Briton Luffs upset the form book to beat leaders the Swan in the Rushes Black Pearls 6-3, whilst second place Dewdrop Blues came from 3-1 down to beat the White Hart Stags on the beer leg. The ‘Blues’ are now nine points behind the leaders with a game in hand. The Royal Oak Old Uns are up to third place after their 5-4 win over the Crown MA, and Blue Ball CS beat the Windmill Wild Hearts 7-2 to stay fourth.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Six, the Plough Ernie’s now lead the division following their 7-2 win against Shepshed Dynamo B&W. Previous leaders Generous Briton Team GB drop to second after losing 7-2 to the Swan in the Rushes Savvies who are now third.
