Remembering living with his auntie in Moira Street

-

LOOKING Back has featured fond memories from a number of former residents of Moira Street in Loughborough, and one reader has got in touch with his memories of living with his auntie and uncle in the old Loughborough street.

Brian Axten got in touch and said: “The photo of Moira Street and particularly the recollections by Brenda Billson stirred some happy memories for me too, and especially in remembering my aunt flo and Uncle Tom (the Axten’s) of whom I was very fond.”

Brian said that his aunt and uncle lived at number three Moira Street until being relocated due to the development of the area.

He said: “Sometime after the end of WW2 my parents, Beryl and Ken, and myself, lived with Flo and Tom and again Brenda’s reference to others in the street re-ignited memories of those people.

“I congratulate Brenda on having such a wonderful memory to be able to recall those happy times, the people and the places and thank her for re-kindling my younger and not so efficient memory; I intend to challenge my sister’s now.”

Did you used to live in Moira Street? Maybe your family lived and you have your own memories of the street? Maybe you can even remember the coronation there?
