Overnight closures on the A6 bypass
MOTORISTS are being warned about overnight closures affecting the A6 Mountsorrel Bypass.
All works will be undertaken from 8pm until 6am.
Hill Top Island and the overbridge will be closed on Monday, August 14, and Tuesday, August 15, there will be no access from Mountsorrel to the A6 or from the A6 to Mountsorrel. From the A6, access to Mountsorrel will be via Granite Way.
Northbound traffic on the old A6 will be diverted through Rothley.
Works at One Ash Roundabout will commence on Wednesday, August 16, for one night. The A6 bypass will be closed northbound, and the A6004 will be closed southbound.
Traffic travelling from Loughborough Road, Quorn, will only be allowed to turn left onto A6004 Epinal Way to Loughborough. Traffic travelling from A6 Loughborough towards One Ash Island will only be allowed to turn left onto A6 bypass.
Works at Granite Way roundabout will start on Thursday, August 17. The A6 bypass will be closed, Loughborough-bound, up to and past Granite Way roundabout. There will be no access onto Granite Way, Leicester-bound, off the A6 bypass. Granite Way will be closed between the old A6 and the A6 bypass in both directions.
On Friday, August 18, there will be continued works at Granite Way Roundabout. The A6 bypass will be closed Leicester-bound from the One Ash Roundabout (A6004) to Granite Way roundabout. Granite Way will be closed from the old A6 to the A6 bypass in the one direction only. The diversion routes will be signed on site. Leicestershire County Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused during these works.
