Age UK’s new bigger book shop

-

AGE UK Leicester Shire and Rutland has opened a “bigger and better” book shop in town.

Just two doors up from the former premises, the charity’s literature store is now at 9 Biggin Street in the former John Barrie unit - directly opposite the Age UK clothing shop (24 Biggin Street).

A spokesperson said: “The new shop will be bigger and better than the old premises and able to offer a much larger selection of fiction, non-fiction and academic books.”

Executive director Tony Donovan said: “There is a clear need locally for our work and so we are looking at ways to increase our fund-raising to invest back into these services.

“At the very least we want to protect the future of these services but ideally we’d like to expand them so that more people can benefit and improve the quality of their later lives. “

Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland is looking for volunteers. Email volunteering@ageukleics.org.uk for more information or visit one of the shops.
