Jeremy Corbyn visits the town
LABOUR Party leader Jeremy Corbyn visited Loughborough to speak to local members as part of his tour of the country.
Mr Corbyn addressed a meeting of Labour supporters at Loughborough’s Emmanuel Church Hall on Friday, September 8.
Mr Corbyn said a Labour Government “will reverse damaging policies of austerity and improvements to vital services will be paid for by increased corporate taxation and taxation of the very rich.”
Mr Corbyn spoke for 40 minutes with frequent bursts of applause for the points he made, before taking questions from the audience, including one from nine-year-old Thomas Ronald.
Paul Boldrin, Chair of Loughborough Constituency Labour Party said that the meeting had been both “stimulating and enjoyable.”
Whilst he was in Loughborough the Labour Party leader also popped into Salim’s Indian restaurant in Leicester Road.
