Scout Group’s trailer stolen - police appeal

Loughborough Echo - - NEWS -

A SCOUT leader has told the Echo they feel “sad, fed up and quite irritated” following the theft of the group’s trailer.

The Belton and Hathern Scout Group double axle box trailer is believed to have been taken from the vicinity of the Bull Ring, Shepshed, between August 28 and September 4.

Assistant Scout leader Peter Guy told the Echo the group used the trailer for taking kit to camps and on other trips/activities, and not having it has impacted the group.

He told the Echo: “We’ll carry on and hopefully people will help us out if we need it. We’re hoping the insurance may pay some of its value but that may leave us short so we may have to do some fundraising. We’re obviously very sad, fed up and quite irritated.”

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police told the Echo the incident is being treated as a theft.

They said: “It is believed to have happened between August 28 and September 4. Enquiries are ongoing at the moment.”
