A CONCERT UNDER the stars in the grounds of Holywell House in Loughborough raised more than £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Hoteliers Lez Cope Newman and Derek Hunter put on the event where five local performers, Jenny Saunders, David Morris, Stephanie Hall, Jonathon Penton and Gemma Landers performed on a stage dressed by chandeliers and lit by candles with laser lighting in the trees.

The supper was supplied by Bill Cooling of Loughborough in conjunction with Barnetts on Leicester Road, and sound and lighting provided by Dave Shepherd.

“What a wonderful way to raise money” was a comment made by one of the guests, and the guest house is hoping to host several other events over the next year including a curry and classic night and a dinner and Disney night.

A total of £733.75 was raised for Macmillian.
