Viv goes north to run for Rainbows

-

A RAINBOWS Hospice nurse, who wanted to give Sir Mo Farah a run for his money, tackled the Great North Run.

Though Viv Durham, (39), didn’t quite manage to keep up with running superstar, she did set a personal best of two hours and 38 minutes.

Viv swapped the care environment for the open road to mark her impending 40th birthday and to raise funds for the Loughborough-based charity she works for.

The mother-of-four roped in friends and running mates to form ‘Team Rainbows’ and so far the group has raised more than £2,000 for the hospice.

Viv said: “I’m aching a little after the event, but I am over the moon that I ran every hill and every step and all our Team Rainbows members finished. It’s a tough course – but what an incredible experience. As for Sir Mo... I’ll train a bit harder... Maybe I’ll catch him next year!”
