Elsie and Norm take on Macbeth
CHARNWOOD Community Theatre is to take to the stage with a production that sees a hilarious northern couple take on a Shakespearean classic.
The group will be taking to the stage at Fearon Hall, Loughborough, with Elsie and Norm’s Macbeth, by John Christopher–Wood, on Thursday, September 28, and Friday, September 29, before heading to Diseworth Village Hall on Saturday, September 30.
Elsie and Norm are tired of inviting the neighbours round for board games so, in a bid to be more cultured, decide to put on a production of ‘Macbeth’.
However, it is obvious that there are aspects of the play that need improving – so Norm comes up with his own ‘superior’ version. What follows is an evening of total chaos as the hapless pair flounder their way through an hilarious mash-up of the Bard’s (once) great work.
All shows commence at 7.30pm. Tickets are £7 each and can be booked on 07720 715081. Visit CCT’s website at ctheatre.wixsite.com/ctheatre for more.
