Varied programme of light classics for band concert

LOUGHBOROUGH Concert Band performed a concert at All Saint’s Church, Thurcaston, on Saturday, September 2.

The concert was held in aid of the churches in Thurcaston and Anstey and the band played a varied programme of light clas- sics, music from the shows and more modern music.

Compere Eddie Pearson kept the audience and band well informed thanks to his research into the musical pieces.

The concert was well received and finished with a rousing encore as they played The Floral Dance.

The programme included a solo spot for trumpeter Kevin Massey as he played Share my Yoke, and featured a piece composed by band member Zoe Fenton from her Seascape.
