Autumn glory

-

AFTER a summer break, Loughborough Flower Lovers’ Club will commence its autumn programme on Thursday, September 21, by featuring a demonstration entitled ‘Autumn Glory’ by the leading floral designer, Alan Smith.

Reflecting on his decades of experience Alan says, ‘When demonstrations first started everyone travelled by train, so they couldn’t be so elaborate as they are now.

Now demonstrations are very much about entertainment, telling a story, and arrangements are sometimes extremely complex for the simple reason that florists can fill their car and carry a lot more material.’ Alan does indeed entertain and tell a story, so his visit is eagerly awaited.

Meetings are held at Our Lady’s Convent School, Gray Street, Loughborough LE11 2DZ from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Parking is easy and plentiful within the school grounds, and new members and visitors can be assured of a very warm welcome.

There is no need to participate, just sit back and enjoy the beautiful flower arrangements produced by an experienced speaker.

Tea/coffee and biscuits are available.
