Leaders Bottom Railway BA beat the Three Nuns Left Footers in Division One

Six maximums were scored in the game as leaders Bottom Railway BA beat the Three Nuns Left Footers 7-2 in Blue Ball Division One of the Loughborou­gh and District Pubs and Clubs Darts League last week. Andy Hibbert hit a league record four in the game for Bottom Railway and he now takes over the lead in the race for the ‘Most maximums in the season’ trophy for division one, a trophy he won last season with nine. He now has twelve so far this season and with only two more games to play leads Navigation Tap Tapper Dan Jones who is on eleven after he also hit a maximum in their 8-1 win against the Royal Oak Shooters. There were also maximums for Bottom Railway’s Mark Smith, his third of the season, ‘Left Footer’ Rich Greasley with his sixth and ‘Shooter’ Steve Folkes with his second. Other results in the top division saw Navigation Wagg’s Gang beat the Royal Oak DP 7-2 and Spot On MP beat the Arena Gladiators 6-3. In the top game of Wanty’s Division Two, Andy Wooldridge hit his third and Daz Beasly his second maximum for Brush Club AW and Michael Sciepanow hit his eleventh maximum for Spot On Guy ‘n’ Gals as Brush narrowly won 5-4. Michael is all but assured of the trophy for the most maximums in divisions two to six. Duane Etchells also hit a maximum for the Top Railway as they beat Tap and Mallet CD 7-2. In S H Cox Division Three, leaders Three Crowns, Barrow beat the Black Swan 7-2 and second place Blacksmith Blue Army beat the Three Nuns Exiles 5-4. With only two games to go it is now between the two beaten sides as to who finishes third. In Generous Briton Division Four, the Twelve Degrees 26er’s beat Plough B 7-2 to give themselves a real opportunit­y of a top three place if they win their game in hand. In Navigation Division Five all four games finished in close 5-4 wins. Leaders Swan in the Rushes Black Pearls beat the White Hart Stags, second place Dewdrop Blues beat the Generous Briton Luffs. Blue Ball CS recaptured third spot after beating Crown MA and Royal Oak Old Uns beat Tap and Clapper Bob Bradley’s. Finally in Jim Kidger Division Six, the Crown Jewels are back on top after they beat the Generous Briton Team GB 5-4 but the Plough Ernie’s now look favourite to win the division after they beat last week’s leaders Top Railway DUI’s 6-3. The ‘Ernie’s’ are now only four points behind the leaders with a game in hand. With the 2017 summer season now reaching a conclusion Captains are reminded that all re-arranged games must be played by the final night of league fixtures on Thursday September 28 for the result to count.
