Slavery charge

A LOUGHBOROUGH man has been charged under The Modern Slavery Act in relation to holding a person in slavery and servitude.

Police told the Echo that Kenneth Brown, 23, of Warwick Court, Loughborough, and Kane Anderson, 22, of Cranmer Street, Leicester, were both charged under Section One of The Modern Slavery Act and appeared in court on Tuesday, September 19.

A police spokesperson said that the charge relates to incidents which have occurred between May and September this year at an address in Leicester.

The pair will be appearing at Leicester Crown Court on Tuesday, October 17.
