Chance to air your views on school transport changes

RESIDENTS are being urged to have their say on proposed changes to school transport across the county.

Leicestershire County Council is encouraging residents to share their views on proposals which could see changes to its special educational needs (SEN) and home to school transport policies. The council has launched a 12-week consultation about changes which could include:

• Reducing the level of discount available to students from low income families and those children attending specialist nurseries

• Stopping council arranged taxi and minibus provision to transport SEN students to post 16 education and providing direct finan- cial support instead

• Stopping transport to post 16 education for eligible mainstream post 16 students.
