Food­bank cash boost

THE SHEP­SHED Food­bank team want to “ex­press their heart­felt thanks to so many peo­ple” fol­low­ing re­cent do­na­tions.

The St Bo­tolph’s con­cert, fea­tur­ing the Lough­bor­ough Con­cert Band and the Caro­line Sharpe Singers, and the fundraising evening at Spice Lounge, Bri­tan­nia Street, raised a com­bined total of £1,000.

The owner of the restau­rant, Luban, do­nated a sub­stan­tial sum and the gen­eros­ity didn’t stop there as, fol­low­ing the fundrais­ers, Ser­e­nade Choir pre­sented Glen­nis Wil­cox, chair of the Food­bank, a £500 cheque.

She said: “It is re­ally en­cour­ag­ing to see lo­cal peo­ple sup­port­ing lo­cal causes.”
