Foodbank cash boost

THE SHEPSHED Foodbank team want to “express their heartfelt thanks to so many people” following recent donations.

The St Botolph’s concert, featuring the Loughborough Concert Band and the Caroline Sharpe Singers, and the fundraising evening at Spice Lounge, Britannia Street, raised a combined total of £1,000.

The owner of the restaurant, Luban, donated a substantial sum and the generosity didn’t stop there as, following the fundraisers, Serenade Choir presented Glennis Wilcox, chair of the Foodbank, a £500 cheque.

She said: “It is really encouraging to see local people supporting local causes.”
