Free history event

RESIDENTS are invited to learn more about the ‘Prominent Women in North West Leicestershire’ at a free history event.

Taking place on Saturday, October 5, the event at Thringstone Community Centre aims to highlight women across the ages and their work.

It will feature Roesia de Verdon, Dolly Shepherd, Mary Booth, Marlene Reid, and other notable historical women.

Charnwood AC athlete Gemma Steel is to open the event which will run from noon until 5pm.
