STUDENTS from Loughborou­gh High School were presented with awards for their academic success and were treat to a special guest speech by former student and award-winning musical comedian and actress Rachel Parris.

Rachel left LHS in 2002, to study at Oxford University and has since had success performing at the Edinburgh Fringe festival and has appeared in TV shows including the IT Crowd and BBC Three’s Murder in Successvil­le.

Prizes were given to GCSE, AS and A Level students, from year 10 through to year 13.

Headmistre­ss, Mrs Byrom paid a special cute to former head of food, Mrs Megan Reilly who taught at LHS for 33 years.
