Gun display complaint

THE Echo received a letter from a resident who was saddened to see a window display in a local toy shop encouraging parents to buy machine guns, bren guns, grenades and weapons of war as Christmas presents for children.

The letter from Ivy Strachan said: “With so many people suffering in the war it appalls me to think that we here celebrate the birth of Christ by giving these horrible replicas of war weapons to out children.”
