TWENTY-FOUR members of Quorn Local History Society attended its second meeting which was held in St Bartholomew’s Church on 18th September.

As well as dealing with important business (establishing a constitution and forming a committee), the Group enjoyed a very interesting talk from Sue Templeman who took them into the Farnham chapel and explained the history of the chapel and many members of the Farnham family.

The next meeting of the Group will be in Quorn Village Hall on Monday, October 23, when they will begin discussing the types of project that they will begin to take forward over the next few years, suggestions included recording the memories of Quorn’s long-standing and elderly residents, photographing and recording the headstones in church graveyard, and researching the lace making industry.

The Group welcomes anyone with an interest in the history of Quorn. For further details contact Paul Goodman on 01509 413067.
