Boulter reaches last eight in Mexico

-

WOODHOUSE Eaves tennis star Katie Boulter has been in action in the USA and Mexico.

The 20-year-old was knocked out in the first round of the ITF tournament in Las Vegas losing 3-6 2-6 to American Allie Kiick but fared better in the $100,000 IFT tournament in Tampico, Mexico.

In the first round, she beat Canadia Catherine Leduc 6-2 6-3 before beating American Grace Min 3-6 6-3 6-2 in the round of 16.

Boulter was fancied to make the last four as she faced unranked Spaniard Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov in the quarter finals but after losing a close opening set 6-4, the Spaniard took the second set 6-0 as the Brit crashed out.

Now Boulter is back in America to take part in the $60,000 ITF tour event in Templeton, California (Sept 26 - October 1) where she will face American Maria Sanchez in the first round.
