Spot On MP will face Navigation Wagg’s Gang in the final of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup

THE semi-finals and finals of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup and Plate Competitio­ns were played last Thursday in the Loughborou­gh & District Pubs and Clubs Darts League.

Held at the Three Nuns Loughborou­gh, the semi-finals of the Kater 4 Knockout Cup pitted together Spot On MP and Royal Oak Shooters, and Navigation Wagg’s Gang with the only none Division One side in the line-up The Three Crowns Barrow. Both games went the full distance with Spot On MP beating The Royal Oak Shooters 5-4 and Navigation Wagg’s Gang getting the better of the Three Crowns in a repeat of last season’s semi-final. Navigation Wagg’s Gang ran out easy 5-1 winners in the final to put aside last season’s runners up disappoint­ment.

The Plate Competitio­n finals night was played in Shepshed at the Bottom Railway. The semi-final draw paired defending Plate Winners Arena Gladiators against fellow Division One side Blue Ball Lions and Generous Briton Division Four side Crown Rejects against Dewdrop Blues from Navigation Division Five. Both semi-finals were pretty one-sided affairs with the Blue Ball Lions and Crown Rejects winning through 5-1.

The final saw the Blue Ball Lions produce the sort of form that has propelled them to third place in division one, and they ran out easy 5-2 winners the highlight for the Crown being an excellent 106 check out by their captain Neil McHugh.

There were several re-arranged league games also played last week.

In Wanty’s Division Two, Julie Booth hit a maximum for Tap and Mallet JB as they dented Brush AW’s hopes of the division title with a 5-4 win.

In Generous Briton Division Four, Twelve Degrees 26ers 7-2 win against the Crown Rejects puts them top of the division three points clear of long term leaders Spot On Rejects with the final games to play.

In Navigation Division Five, Dewdrop Blues beat the Windmill Wild Hearts 6-3 to consolidat­e second place from Blue Ball CS who remain third after their 5-4 win against the Tap & Clapper Bob Bradley’s for whom Chris Plowright hit a maximum.

Finally in Jim Kidger Division Six, the Plough Ernie’s need only two points from their final game to secure the division title after their 6-3 win against second place Top Railway DUI’s, and Shepshed Dynamo B&W beat the Three Nuns Bad Habits 5-4.

The Registrati­on and AGM for the new winter 2017 Season is on the same night as the Shardlow Brewery Champion of Champions Knockout Cup Thursday, October 5 at the Royal Oak, Leicester Road, Loughborou­gh.

The Presentati­on Night for the Summer 2016 Season is on Friday, October 20, at Fennel Street Club and the night will include the 180 ‘9-Dart’ Throw off competitio­n which is open to players that have recorded one or more maximums during the summer season. A list of qualifiers eligible to compete in the event will be prepared and published following next week’s final league games.
