Talks about new business partnership

-

AN ALTERNATIVE theatre company - started by a Shepshed woman who aims to inspire those facing disability - is in talks with an African Caribbean Centre about creating a new business partnership.

Action Adventure Theatre Productions, which specialises in immersive theatrical games, will be opening its new-found friendship with the Leicester African Caribbean Centre with its show, Murder at The Masquerade Ball on October 6.

The owners of Action Adventure Theatre Productions; Jennifer Gilbert (head of Masquerade SFX) and Shepshed’s Natasha Mann-Harwood (head of Action Adventure Theatre Productions) say their goal is to make theatre more accessible to the entire community.

The Echo previously reported that Natasha started the group as she was on a mission to get back into work after she was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome - a painful condition that affects the connective tissues - after a lorry collided with the back of her car.

Jennifer and Natasha said: “We both love theatre and art and want to bring our passion to this wonderful centre in the heart of Leicester’s Afro Caribbean community and show people that what- ever their barriers are, they can be overcome.

“After experiencing tremendous barriers ourselves, we both know all too well the hard path someone must follow in order to achieve their dreams when everything is against them.

“We hope that our new working relationship with the African Caribbean Centre Leicester will only help our ability to create jobs and help others achieve their dreams, just like we are doing.”
